A Clinicopathological Study on 21 Cases of Gastric Carcinoma in Young Adults

Abstract
A clinicopathological study on 21 cases of gastric carcinoma in young adults is presented here.
1) The incidence to all gastric carcinomas (240 cases) was 3.3% (8 cases) under the age of 30 and 5.4% (13 cases) between 30 and 35 years old.
The ratio of male to female was to 3.2.
2) The duration of illness was 3 months in 47.6%, presenteed, the highest frequency.
3) The most frequcntly presented chief complaints were epigastric pain, vomiting and indigestion.
4) 95.2% showed rather large sized tumor mass, measuring above 5§¯ in diamtter.
Most of the tumors (71.4%) were located at the pyloric region along the lesser curvature.
Grossly 70% were Borrmann 111 type and 95.2% were advanced beyond stage 11.
Peritoneal implantation was noted in 71.4%.
5) Microscopically adenocarcinoma was seen in 7 cases(70%)
